Steve Cram Celebrity Golf Day 2010 London

For the first time Steve decided to take his famed Celebrity Golf day out of the North East and down to London and the southern region.

For the first time Steve decided to take his famed Celebrity Golf day out of the North East and down to London and the southern region. With the kind support of title sponsors Atos Origin, and hosts Tandridge Golf Club the London event raised in excess of £12,000 for COCO. The event adopted a slightly different format which pitted athletic legends against well known names from the world of sports media. Steve captained the athlete's team with John Inverdale looking after the media rivals. Thanks again to all the celebrities who kindly donated their time to make the event a huge success as well as the generosity of the corporate teams whose support helped raise vital funds for COCO's overseas projects.

On combined Stableford points the victors by a small margin were the athletes and the trophy is now in the hands of Steve Cram until battle commences again late 2011. Venue and date TBC, watch this space for the Athletes v Media II

COCO

In 1998 former British Army officer Jim Panton and former international athlete Steve Cram joined forces to raise much-needed funds for the children of a small war-torn community in Bosnia.

Running a 52-mile marathon, they and a handful of Army officers succeeded in raising vital funds for the community. After seeing the difference that their support and funds made they made a pledge to continue their efforts for the benefit of many other children throughout the world. It was at this point that COCO, Comrades of Children Overseas, was born.

To this day, COCO continues to work towards brighter futures across the globe with the same drive and determination.
