Steve Cram Celebrity Golf Day 2010 Slaley Hall

The Steve Cram Celebrity Golf Days began back in 2004 to raise valuable funds for Steve's charity COCO.

In the years following we have been able to develop and grow the event into an established, must attend, memorable Golf Day. Raising in excess of £120,000 for COCO projects overseas Steve manages to regularly attract a stellar celebrity line up who kindly donate their time and golfing skills to being part of a wonderful fundraising event. Sir Ian Botham, Niall Quinn, Kriss Akabusi, Hazel Irvine, Daley Thompson and Willie Thorne to name just a few are regulars to the event and 2010 was no exception.

For the first time De Vere Slaley Hall kindly allowed us use of both their spectacular golf courses and 36 corporate teams, joined by celebrities took to the fairways on a stunning Northumberland day.

Thanks to the generosity of Dunelm Property Services, our title sponsor, as well as the long list of other sponsor contributors and all our supporters who purchased golf teams, raffle tickets and auction prizes the 2010 event raised £18,000 for COCO. The aim for 2011 is to crash through £20,000 barrier and continue to build on the success of the now famed ‘Steve Cram Celebrity Golf day'.

COCO

In 1998 former British Army officer Jim Panton and former international athlete Steve Cram joined forces to raise much-needed funds for the children of a small war-torn community in Bosnia.

Running a 52-mile marathon, they and a handful of Army officers succeeded in raising vital funds for the community. After seeing the difference that their support and funds made they made a pledge to continue their efforts for the benefit of many other children throughout the world. It was at this point that COCO, Comrades of Children Overseas, was born.

To this day, COCO continues to work towards brighter futures across the globe with the same drive and determination.
